Banana caramel verrine

Do you love bananas and caramel ?

Well then this is this banana caramel verrine is perfect for you. A Verrine is a french word that means a glass container literally.A verrine is also a type of dessert that is served in a glass or cup and that has some layering effect to it.

This week, I would like to share with you this super easy dessert that is made with some homemade granola, some caramel, and of course fresh mashed bananas.

This can be made in advance and stored in the fridge up to three days. If you don't feel like making the granola, you can of course use a commercial one. But let's be honest, the homemade granola is always better!

Hope you guys like this recipe, let me know if you have any questions or suggestions in the comment section.

Let's go to the recipe !

  • 50 g butter, (1/4 cup)

  • 120 g heavy cream, (2/3 cup)

  • 110 g sugar, (1/2 cup)

  • 3 ripe bananas

  • Some Granola (check out my recipe here)

How To

  • Cut the butter into small squares.

  • In a saucepan over low heat, add about three tablespoons of sugar.

  • Wait until the sugar starts to melt and start adding it little by little.

  • Meanwhile, heat the cream in the microwave.

  • Once the sugar is completely caramelized, add the hot cream little by little while mixing. Be careful, this is a dangerous step because there may be projection of hot caramel.

  • Add the butter squares and mix until completely incorporated.

  • Pour into a bowl or baking pan and let cool in the fridge for 30 min.

  • Start by maching the bananas until smooth.

  • Prepare a glass where you can assemble the verrine.

  • Start by putting a layer of granola, then bananas then caramel. You can pipe the caramel or simply put it using a spoon.

  • Do this step one more time or until the glass is full.
